McDonald’s Fundraiser
For over 40 years McDonald’s has been a primary supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities (it’s right there in the name!), and for 30 years our local co-op of McDonald’s stores has stood behind the Intermountain Area chapter. Store owners, managers, and staff have been incredibly supportive, offering special events, regular programs, and fundraisers that raise money to help keep the House and Family Rooms open and families closer together when times get tough. In November 2017 the National McDonald’s Fundraiser (formerly known as ‘Give a Hand’) encouraged customers to donate to the Charity, and the community really stepped up in support of hospitalized children – donating a total of $62,695!
As Charity staff members visited local McDonald’s stores to share our gratitude, they were impressed by the dedication from owners and employees. ‘The support was amazing,’ said an RMHC staffer, ‘and one main theme that I saw throughout the stores was the personal connections that many of the employees/managers/owners have had with our charity. They know and have felt the impact of what we do directly! So many people have personal stories – a family member, a neighbor, a friend or co-worker who stayed at the House while a child had surgery or medical treatment. Some of them used the House or Family Room themselves. All these experiences made them so motivated to help raise money for the Charity! It was pretty amazing.’ Our heartfelt thanks go out to our incredible group of McDonald’s owners/operators, and everyone who has shown their support! |
