Role in Supporting the Ronald McDonald House

Locally

Ronald McDonald House Charities relies on a broad base of community support, with McDonald's as our most long-standing advocate. Locally, McDonald's support totals between 10 percent to 12 percent of Ronald McDonald House Charities' annual budget with the remaining coming from the suppliers and vendors of McDonald's, restaurant customers, local foundations, corporations and generous individuals in Utah and beyond. Besides McDonald's leadership in establishing Salt Lake Houses they:

  • Provide fundraising partnerships in their restaurants (e.g., McHappy Day and collection canisters in stores)
  • Help sponsor our special events (e.g., Auction and Golf Classic, and other events)
  • Lend resources and expertise to help accomplish our mission

The dedication and volunteer heritage of the McDonald's family is an important part of our work for children and their families.

Nationally

Global RMHC is a source of capital funds on a project-by-project basis and, believing that all charities should be strongly supported in their local communities, never fully funds a project. The Ronald McDonald House (in every major city where a children's hospital is located) is licensed to use the name. The Ronald McDonald clown identity is second only to Santa Claus in recognition to children. Our mission is to provide safe, affordable housing to families while children are being treated at nearby hospitals.
