Adopt-A-Meal

The Adopt-A-Meal program gives volunteer groups the opportunity to cook and prepare meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Salt Lake City or the Family Room at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital while their children receive urgent medical care.

Serve at the Ronald McDonald House

Salt Lake City, Utah

Volunteer groups of up to 10 people plan the menu, purchase food, prep the meal, and serve it directly to families. Groups are asked to provide food for 60 individuals at dinner and for 40 individuals at lunch.

LUNCH
Served at 1:00 PM

Purchase and prepare food for one main dish (with a few vegetarian meals), one to two sides, and individual drinks. Food for 40 people. Provide paper products, plasticware, and napkins. Dessert is optional.

DINNER
Served at 6:00 PM

Purchase and prepare food for one main dish (with a few vegetarian meals), one to two sides, and individual drinks. Food for 60 people. Provide paper products, plasticware, and napkins. Dessert is optional.

In order to keep this process safe for you, our guest families, and staff, we set the following guidelines:

  • Volunteers be symptom free from COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.
  • Groups must be no larger than 10 individuals. 
  • All food must be store-bought, catered, or prepared in our on-site kitchen. Food prepared at home cannot be served.
