Come Get to Know Us Better!

It is time for our annual meet and greet – a chance for you to come and learn more about Ronald McDonald House Charities. We invite you to enjoy some breakfast with us in our community room, learn about our work, our families, the facilities we operate and how to get involved. Our annual “get to know us” breakfast takes place on Thursday, May 9th and starts at 8:30AM. A tour of our 72-room Ronald McDonald House immediately follows breakfast, ending no later than 10am. This day is what we call a “friend raiser”. You will not be asked to make a contribution – but we do hope that in this process we do make some new friends!

Please RSVP if you would like to join us by May 7th to Vickie@rmhslc.org . We hope to see you on Thursday!

We’re Lovin’ our McDonald’s Partners

For over 40 years McDonald’s has been a primary supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities (it’s right there in the name!), and for 31 years our local co-op of McDonald’s stores has stood behind our Intermountain Area chapter.

Recently we received the final tall for the 2018 National Fundraiser that ran from November 27- December 9, 2018 . Our local McDonald’s co-op raised over $88,000! Such an incredible impact. And, we all know and love March for Shamrock Shakes. Did you know that McDonald’s donates $0.25 for every Shamrock Shake that is purchased? So, if you were someone who had a minty treat in March – thank you for your support as well!

So we wanted to say thank you to our partner! You help us support families you come to the Ronald McDonald House and Family Rooms when facing medical challenges. We could not do what we do without our local McDonald’s co-op.

Thank you for working with us, for the generosity of the owners/operators, your crews, and your customers!

Who are Grand Givers?

It could be you! Grand Givers make annual gifts of $1,000 or more ($84/month) and truly are the Cornerstones of Love for the thousands of families we serve each year. This group of donors ensures that we not only serve the needs of our community – a community that is growing every year – but that we also serve these same families with better and more comprehensive services. When you join Grand Givers, you join a group of people who form the foundation of our work and provide the most profound philanthropic support that makes our day to day work possible!  Also – our Grand Givers are invited for fine wine and great cuisine at an exclusive appreciation dinner held at La Caille on October 24, 2019. This evening is underwritten, allowing us to provide the highest quality evening for our guests while ensuring your donation goes directly to support the families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities.

What does $1,000 do for Ronald McDonald House Charities?

  • It helps cover all the expenses for 10 nights for a family needing accommodations while they care for their ill or injured child
  • It helps pay for 5-6 homecooked dinners at the Family Room where we feed 75-100 people each night on average
  • It helps stock our shelves with food, snacks, and other basics at the Ronald McDonald House kitchen for our overnight families
  • It helps cover the costs of 2 months of snacks and sundries for our Hospitality Carts up at Ogden Regional Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children
  • It helps cover gas and maintenance expenses for our free shuttle
  • It helps take care of the small things that add up to big things so our families don’t have to think about it
  • Your $1,000 becomes an act of love for our pediatric patients and their families
  • Your $1,000 makes you one of our Cornerstones of Love – A Grand Giver

Meet Vickie –
Our Chief Stewardship and Major Gifts Officer

Full Name:  Vickie Moschetti

Title:  Chief Stewardship and Major Gifts Officer

When did you start working with Ronald McDonald House?  February 2008

What is your core job function?  To provide stewardship and care of our donors, oversee major gifts, capital campaigns, and planned giving.

What is one of your favorite moments on your job? My most favorite, is when I see the children smiling and playing… But after that, I love when I take a donor on a tour, and they are able to see first-hand the immediate impact their donation has made on pediatric patient families in need.

In addition to your job, do you support Ronald McDonald House Charities as a donor? Why?   Yes, I am an annual Grand Giver and participate in our Capital Campaigns and other fundraising opportunities to support the charity.  The number one reason I donate, is because I truly believe in the mission. I have a personal connection and empathy for what these parents are going through, because I also had a child spend over 2 months in the hospital and it was distressing to leave her side or be far away.  Secondly, if I am going to ask someone to donate, shouldn’t I be a donor as well?

Your personal Favorite Quote:   “In seeking happiness for others, you will find it in yourself.” — Unknown

Stay tuned next month – we will be unveiling our new text messaging service and a fun promotion to launch it!
