2017 Annual Report

Thank you for your love, support and commitment to our mission in 2017!

Last year Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Intermountain Area (RMHC) served 11,677 pediatric patient families. Our 72-room Ronald McDonald House welcomed 3,935 guest families, 5,594 families were offered needed respite at our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and our Hospitality Carts served 2,148 families.  We were able to positively impact more families than ever before thanks to gifts of time and generosity by the community!

RMHC is deeply grateful for all who have shared their love in support of pediatric patients and their families, and honored to be associated with individuals, companies and foundations that have helped us to make a positive impact on the world.  The support of our community has helped us expand our mission and grow the quality of programming offered. Together we are surrounding families with the support they need to be near and care for their seriously ill or injured children.

Tess’s Story

We stayed at the Ronald McDonald House for almost three months in 2012 when our daughter Tess was born 14 weeks early and stayed in the NICU in Murray. We had no idea how important the House would be to us! Not only an affordable place to stay, we could do laundry and touch base with people who understood the stress we were under and how meaningful each little victory was. On top of that, the “no sickness” policy meant we had the best chance of staying healthy, which was the only way we could go see her. During those 84 days, we were exhausted in every way. The House was a sanctuary and little things like dinner or Girl Scout cookies were comfort.

Tess just turned six. She’s smart, rambunctious and strong-willed. She’s now the oldest of 5, and we point out the house every time we’re in SLC to see her family. Thank you for everything you do, and for being there for us.

Golf Tournament Volunteers/Gifts

The greatest time of the year is here – well, OK, the OTHER greatest time of the year… The 30th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, August 27th at Willow Creek Country Club, and we couldn’t be more excited for this year’s tournament. Each year, our golf scramble raises money to support the families of children undergoing medical treatment at area hospitals.

A simple round of golf can have an immeasurable impact for an untold number of children and families for many years to come.  We are reaching out to individuals and businesses who might be interested in making a positive impact simply by donating items or services to be purchased by our participants or given away as tournament prizes, and we’d love to include you on our incredible roster of supporters! Please email stephanie@rmhslc.org with any questions, to receive a donation form or make any arrangements; and feel free to contact the Development department for any information about the tournament. Facebook Birthdays

Thank you for celebrating your birthdays with us!

As we celebrate our 30th birthday at the Ronald McDonald House this year, we want to thank those of you who celebrated your birthday with us by hosting a Facebook Fundraiser in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Intermountain Area (RMHC)!  So far this year you have collected more than $5,000 through Facebook Fundraising. This definitely makes for a Happy Birthday!  Thank you! Your gifts are helping RMHC families stay close so they can be stronger together.

Our goal is to raise over $10,000 by the end of the year!  2018 is half way over, so if you have a birthday this month or later in the year, we would be grateful to be part of your special day… or birthday month!

Host a Fundraiser

Each year, energetic individuals, businesses, community groups, and students generate the resources we need in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area. There are a variety of ways to get involved with RMHC and hosting a fundraiser is one big way that helps keep our doors open!  Your fundraiser not only brings in funds for the charity, but it also brings awareness to our mission.  We couldn’t do it without our community partners like you!

Examples of Successful Fundraising Events

  • Host a birthday party – Guests bring donations of cash or Wish List items for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
  • Host a service/product promotion – Designate a day at your business or a product for sale where a portion of the proceeds benefit RMHC.
  • Host a sporting event – Coordinate a golf tournament, fun run, ride, basketball tournament, etc. in which the net proceeds and/or entry fees benefit RMHC.
  • Host a grassroots fundraiser – Host a small fundraiser like a garage sale with your family or neighborhood, a car wash/lemonade stand or even a penny war between classes, teams or competing schools.

If you are interested in hosting a fundraiser or have questions please contact our Event Manager Stephanie to learn more.
