Golf Tournament

Register now for RMHC’s Annual Golf Tournament at Jeremy Ranch! 144 golfers will join us on Monday, August 16th and enjoy a beautiful day of golf in the mountains – while raising much needed funds for the pediatric patient families served by RMHC.

There are still spots available, but they are going fast. And, if you want to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area but can’t attend – you can also choose to provide a donation on the registration page.

Honoring Father’s Day

On Sunday, June 20, we took time to celebrate the fathers who we serve. Those who are currently at the Ronald McDonald House and Family Room were given succulent plants along with a pizza lunch provided by our partner Diversion Eatery.

We put together a short 1-minute video celebrating the Fathers we see on a daily basis. The video recognizes the strength and love they have for their families.

Family Room 8th Anniversary

On June 7, 2021, we were able to have a modified in-person celebration for the 8th Anniversary of our Ronald McDonald Family Room 3rd Level. Our very own Leslie Herold made sure that festive decorations brightened the room, and we were able to offer a variety of treats to those who came by on that day. The best part was being able to safely celebrate this milestone together.

Our favorite fun fact of this space is that the Family Room on Level 3 is the largest in the World. This allows us to serve families throughout the year with respite visits, overnight stays, meals, and amenities. Even with the pandemic, in 2020, we welcomed 4,243 individuals, served 2015 families and provided 610 overnight stays. In total, the Ronald McDonald Family Room Level 3 hosted 29,120 individual visits in 2020. We love that with this space, parents can get rest and find support mere steps away from their child’s bedside.

Happy Anniversary Ronald McDonald Family Room – Level 3. We look forward to serving many more families in the years to come!

Health Tip From Hannah

Change, welcomed or not, is a part of life. Practicing skills to help process those changes can be especially beneficial to mental health. Research indicates those who try to address change with coping skills, opposed to avoiding the change, are less likely to experience depression later in life (Mental Health America, 2021).

One skill that can help us process unwanted change is radical acceptance. Radical acceptance is accepting things that are out of our control. To accept something does not mean we approve of the situation. Individuals who learn and practice acceptance coping skills when appropriate are linked to lower rates of mental illness and suicide (Mental Health America, 2021).

Mental Health America created a tool kit that includes tips on how to process big changes and accept reality. You can find the entire tool kit in the sources below as well as links to the direct topics.
