Cornerstones of Love Grand Giver
Appreciation Event

We are grateful for the generous and thoughtful support of our 2017 Cornerstones of Love Grand Givers! Their meaningful charitable support allows us to bring a little extra hope and compassion today, and on tough ‘todays’ yet to come, for families of hospitalized children who stay at the Ronald McDonald House or visit the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Primary Children’s Hospital.

We were delighted to show our gratitude with a lovely Grand Giver Toast and Appreciation Dinner on October 26th at La Caille. The entire event was generously underwritten by our gracious hosts, allowing us to provide the highest quality culinary adventure and thoughtful wine pairing for our guests while ensuring their Grand Giver donation would go directly to support the families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities. We extend our deepest appreciation to our event underwriters for making the evening possible:

David & Colleen Merrill                          Peter & Paula Green Johnson
Don Goldberg & Annette Gaiotti            Charles & Terry Williams

We are thrilled that this year we have earned the support of a record number of Grand Givers. We now have 200 participants in our Cornerstones of Love Grand Giver Program! We want to thank all of our new Grand Givers, as well as those who have been part of the program since it began in 2005. You have our heartfelt gratitude!

Cornerstones of Love Grand Giver Program

When difficulties arise in the life of a child, focus often narrows to the things that matter most: things like home and family. The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Intermountain Area (RMHC) is to surround families with the support they need to be near and care for their seriously ill or injured children – such as providing a place to call home while their child receives life-saving medical treatment at a local hospital and staying together as a family.

It is through the support of our generous community that we are able to help families hold on to precious time together. Our Cornerstones of Love Grand Giver Program is comprised of a special group of individuals who make a personal annual direct gift of $1,000 or greater to ensure that the doors of the Ronald McDonald House remain open to all who need our services, now and in the future. Grand Givers are undoubtedly the cornerstone of love for thousands of families each year; coming together with a shared vision and determination to better our community. As a Grand Giver to RMHC you are the foundation of our work – you provide the profound, immediate support that makes our day-to-day programming possible and directly impacts families in need.

Your contribution will help to ease daily burdens and empower families of hospitalized children with meaningful experiences and quality time together.

November is the month for the official ‘gratitude’ holiday, Thanksgiving, but did you know it’s also the time for the official day of philanthropy? November 28 is the National Day of Giving, or Giving Tuesday (also known as #GivingTuesday)! Coming after ‘Black Friday’ and ‘Cyber Monday’, ‘Giving Tuesday’ is a chance to take a break from holiday shopping and instead spare a thought – and a few dollars – for charitable organizations that need your help.

We’re not ‘talking turkey’ to say that every donation, no matter the size, can make a real difference! As you come through the next big highlight of the holiday season – hopefully surrounded by food, family, and friends – and move on to December’s events, think about those in your neighborhood or whose causes you care about that could use your assistance. Here at RMHC we are dependent upon the goodwill of our incredible community of donors, volunteers, and other supporters who help us keep our doors open to serve the families of seriously ill or injured children. Your donation on #GivingTuesday, large or small, brings awareness to your friends and contacts, and hope to the families of pediatric patients. Share the love, and keep an eye out for the Donation Contest prizes and fun activities we have planned for the week coming up to November 28!

This November, we are thankful for YOU!

Dillard’s Cookbooks

Cooking and entertaining are a little more meaningful knowing that you are helping keep RMHC families close. By purchasing the Dillard’s Southern Living Christmas Cookbook you are helping give families the Gift of Togetherness. 100% of the proceeds from all cookbooks purchased at any Utah Dillard’s location or the Ronald McDonald House will be donated back to our local Ronald McDonald House Charities.  Thank you Dillard’s!

To purchase a cookbook, please go to Ronald McDonald House Charities on 935 E. South Temple, SLC, Utah.

National McDonald’s Fundraiser

Held in restaurants in November, customers can donate $1, $3 or $5 each time they visit McDonald’s and will receive a coupon for a free fry or hashbrown on their next visit.  The 2017 Fundraiser will be held November 7-19. All of the funds raised at the local stores will go back to our local RMHC.

Home for the Holidays

For many families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and Family Room, the last few months of the year are often spent far from home and family. With your help we can make our House a home for the holidays!

Every year, Our ‘Home for the Holidays’ program offers extra love and celebration during November and December for those of our over 11,000 families each year who come to stay at the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms. We decorate guest spaces, provide holiday gift packages, and give families the opportunity to select presents from the donated items in our ‘Santa Shoppe’, offering a festive experience at their home-away-from-home to shower patients, parents, and siblings with cheer and goodwill during a particularly challenging time of year. We warmly invite you to consider participating in ‘Home for the Holidays’ by donating an item, gift card, or service.

This year we have received an abundance of gifts for children, but would appreciate help and support specifically for our teen and adult guests. We request that all gifts be new, unused, and in original packaging. We invite you to help bring the holiday spirit to Ronald McDonald House Charities and provide our families with the comforting feeling that even while they are away from their homes, our House provides them with their own special home for the holidays.

Grateful Guest

Gratitude comes in so many different forms here at Ronald McDonald House Charities, and we are amazed by the love that has been generated by the alumni families that are participating in our Grateful Guest Program!  These families have been guests at the House or Family Room, have traveled from the all over the Intermountain Area and beyond, and are gathering online donations on our behalf to support a cause that is near and dear to their heart.  Please join us in celebrating their strength, perseverance, and incredible family journey! Click here to read the inspiring stories of those that we have had the pleasure of getting to know and love at RMHC. If you would like to be a Grateful Guest and join the circle of giving back that makes our mission possible, please contact Jennifer Bean at jennifer@rmhslc.org .

You hold the Keys to #KeepingFamiliesClose

November 15, 2017 is National RMHC Vehicle Donation Day! Whether you donate your vehicle on the 15th or any other day, one car really can make a difference. Every vehicle donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Intermountain Area is another night, another meal, another chance for families of hospitalized children to be together in a place that feels like home at our Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms.

There’s no better way to get rid of an old vehicle than donating it to a charity – and we make donating your vehicle Fast, Free & Easy. Vehicle donation is a quick and simple way to help make a difference for families during challenging times.

  • Donate cars, trucks, SUV’s, motorcycles, boats – if it has a motor, it can help.
  • Any condition, even if it’s dinged, damaged, rusted or doesn’t start at all.
  • We’ll have it picked up for free, and you may qualify for a tax deduction!

If you think that old car in your driveway isn’t worth much, we would like to turn that thinking around. By donating your car, truck, boat or RV to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area, you can help provide families a place to call home and keep them together during the hospitalization of a seriously ill or injured child. And on top of that, you may qualify for a tax deduction for your charitable donation! We’ll even pick up your vehicle at no charge.

Tell a friend or a neighbor, and make the most of an old vehicle!

Donate a vehicle today!  To donate your vehicle, please click on this link One Car One Difference or call toll free 855-CARS-HELP (855-227-7435).

For more information about the auto donation program and how it helps RMHC, please email Vickie Moschetti, Chief Development Officer at vickie@rmhslc.org or call 801-363-4663.
