Newborn Intensive Care Family Room
The Ronald McDonald Family Room in the University of Utah Hospital opened December 2021 and provides a home-like environment for parents of children being treated in the 55-bed Newborn Intensive Care Unit. This space provides a place for rest and relaxation right inside the medical center.
The Newborn Intensive Care Unit Ronald McDonald Family Room features:
- Seating Areas
- Quiet Room
- Private Showers
- Kitchenette with snacks and beverages
- Laundry Facilities
- Computer Area with WiFi Access
- Overnight Guest Rooms
Families who are transported ot the University of Utah Hospital via Air Med will also be provided with care bags to help them with their stay at the Hospital.
The Family Room At A Glance
- We are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day (Hours and services may be affected boy COVID-19 protocols in place at the time of your visit)
- Located on Level 2 for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at the University of Utah Hospital
- All amenities are provided free of charge
- Overnight stays in the Family Room are scheduled by unit social workers
- To use the Family Room, please acquire your NICU Parent Badge
